6月26日 All the Rage Starts TonightMy radio show, All the Rage, begins tonight on CBC Radio One (it streams live online in a multitude of time zones), at 730pm, and repeats on Saturday at 11am, not pm as the Toronto Star article suggests incorrectly. It should be on Sirius Satellite Radio 137 at 6:30 and 10:30 EDT and again at 10am and 8pm EDT. The first episode is on the Swing era, and it was the first episode we did, so, you know, we've grown a bit since then. But this will be quaint. The Yellow Tape of All the Rage episodes. Without Fight the Power. Oh, also, I just got this email: "Make sure to set your DVR's or tune in Wednesday, June 27th at 10 p.m. to CNBC's "Business Nation" to catch BNL/ Nettwerk feature segment!" Breath duly bated. 6月21日 Anyone Speak Polish? The trip to Poland went well, but it was a whirlwind, and a very intense couple of days of shooting. I learned a lot about Poland, and my family. Although not everything Jewish is gone from Poland (except the people - there were once 3.5 million of us there, now there are approximately 3000), the spirit is largely gone from our landmarks and traditions. It was certainly bittersweet, but I met many kind and generous people there. I can't read this or this, though, can you? KLM is going to f*ck meSo, my flight that was supposed to leave Toronto at 6:05 pm took off at midnight. Here I am now, at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, stuck until 8pm tonight, which should see me in Warsaw around 10pm. A 7 and a half-hour layover. Yippee. Although shooting doesn't begin until tomorrow morning, it means I miss out on seeing Warsaw, before we drive off to Kielce and environs. Though it's been suggested that I leave the airport and go find a coffee shop in which to smoke hash, I will likely just stay here and sulk. They do have cheese and rusks and soup here in the KLM lounge. ![]() 6月8日 KLM is going to rock meAll this week I've been filming an episode of a new CBC tv series called "Who Do You Think You Are?", which traces the geneology of "prominent Canadians," and apparently I qualify. It's based on a successful BBC series, and has been a lot of fun to shoot, but it's been long days. So, I'm writing from the airport, as I am about to board a flight to Warsaw. Yep, I'm spending the weekend in Poland. Either my family is from Poland, or they're looking to research my fascination with Lech Walesa's moustache. Or both. they won't tell me. |
